Welcome to the Trafford Safeguarding Children Board

We are all aware of the increase in public awareness following the tragedies which have resulted in the recent deaths of children such as Baby Peter. Local Safeguarding Children Boards were created as part of the response to these tragedies. TSCB is committed to keeping children and young people safe by ensuring the focus of the work extends beyond the protection of vulnerable children to include the prevention of harm and promotion of welfare for all children and young people in the borough.

TSCB depends on everyone, whether professionals or volunteers, parents or members of the public having an understanding of their own personal or professional responsibility and by creating a new website we aim to make up to date information accessible, to assist individuals and agencies with their safeguarding responsibilities.

We also hope the site will be used by children, young people, families and the wider community so that they too can contribute to the task of making a difference to the lives of all our children and young people.

Parents themselves require and deserve support. Asking for help should be seen as a sign of responsibility rather than as a parenting failure.
